The Makarska cultural association mART was founded in late 2021 for the purpose of promoting culture, art and cultural heritage by implementing cultural projects, organising exhibitions, interventions, workshops, festivals, public actions, conferences, forums, and promoting all art forms in other ways.

Other goals of the association include urban development and renewal, protection of public goods, sustainable development, human rights protection and fostering of volounteering. The founders of the association are Tina Divić, Marija Ivanković and Dijana Jelić Škorlić.
