Raivo Puusemp is an American conceptual artist of Estonian origin, best known for his pioneering work at the intersection of art and politics with a peculiar trojanesque manipulative spirit. 

His artistic practice throughout the 1970s was characterized by a deep interest in systems, language, and the invisible structures that govern social and institutional behavior. 

central to Puusemp’s methodology was the idea of disseminating concepts that would be realized by others. 

People were his Trojan ground, but also actual cities; In 1975, Puusemp undertook what would become his most emblematic work by running for and being elected mayor of Rosendale, a small village in New York State in order to dissolute it. 

Since then, he has ceased making art. Not a former artist, but an artist without pieces.
