Miranda Veljačić

Miranda Veljačić is an architect and cultural worker. Her activities are spread out across the fields of ar chitecture, activism and art. She is the co-founder and head of Platforma 9,81, as well as a partner in the ARP Architects’ Office. Along with many other roles, she served as member of the presidency of the Split Architects’ Association (2006 – 2010), the editorial board of Oris magazine (2007 – 2008) and the programme committee for urban culture of the Multimedia Cultural Centre in Split. With D. Peračić, she was awarded the 2nd prize at the 44th Architecture Salon of Zagreb for the Revitalisation Project for the Youth Centre in Split. In 2018, together with D. Peračić, E. Višnić and S. Tolj, she received the Grand Prix at the 53rd Architecture Salon of Zagreb for the we need it – we do it project. As Croatian representatives, the team took the project to the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale. The project The Sea Is Glowing, which she co-authored with D. Peračić, won the Grand Prix of the 58th Zagreb Salon of Applied Arts and Design in 2023. She is a lecturer at the Visual Communications Design Department of the Arts Academy in Split.
