Michele Galluzzo
Michele Galluzzo is a graphic designer and researcher, born in Puglia, Italy, and based in Milan. He graduated in Communication Sciences from the University of Salento and earned a master’s degree in Editorial Design from ISIA Urbino. In 2018, he completed a PhD in Design Sciences at IUAV University of Venice.
From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a research assistant and graphic designer at the AIAP CDPG Graphic Design Historical Archive in Milan. As a researcher, he has collaborated with several historical archives, including the Olivetti Historical Archive Association, the Pirelli Foundation, and the Campari Group.
From 2018 to 2022, he was part of the editorial staff of the international graphic design magazine Progetto Grafico. In 2020, he co-founded the type design/research duo Fantasia Type with Franziska Weitgruber. From 2020 to 2023, he was a fixed-term researcher (RTD) at the Faculty of Design and Arts of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He currently teaches at Abadir Academy in Catania, IUAV in Venice, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, and Raffles Milan.
Since fall 2019 he has been curating the @logo_irl project, investigating the social history of logos.
