Louis Pohl Koseda was born in London in 1991, raised as a Hare Krishna in East London, studied Architecture at the University of Sheffield, and completed a postgrad at the Royal Drawing School. He recently had his Debut Solo Show at Christie’s. 

His work explores the city, its people, and their behaviour, reflecting society through figurative compositions, fine lines, contemporary portraiture, mnemonic cityscapes, and social phenomena, with a focus on the practice of drawing and painting, primarily from imagination. With an emphasis on moral issues in British society, he holds a mirror up to society. His work encompasses visual artwork and spatial interventions. In his paintings, he explores the thresholds of perception, the arcs of memory and the observable.

He has exhibited in over five countries, been featured in the Venice Biennale’s British pavilion, won the Christie’s Award, an RBA Rising Stars Award, a RIBA-Macewan Award, and two Civic Trust Awards.
