Leonid Slonimskiy
Leonid Slonimskiy is an architect, founding partner of KOSMOS Architects and a studio critic at the Space Design/Interior Architecture Department at HEAD – Genève (HES-SO). His work, which encompasses architectural design, research and education, is shaped by his studies at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, and by his collaborations with OMA*AMO and Herzog & de Meuron. KOSMOS Architects has gained recognition, including the Prix de Genève and the Milano Archmarathon Award. Its work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture (2018, 2021 and 2023), the Triennale di Milano (State of the Art of Architecture Milano, 2020), and the Swiss Architecture Museum (2017 and 2021). In his research, Slonimskiy explores the potential of temporary structures and adaptive reuse, through ongoing projects such as FORCED REUSE (2024–2025) and Temporary Tecture. Structures of Necessity (2025).
