Juan Barcia Mas is an architect, researcher, and curator whose work examines how architectural space is produced, mediated, and undone through bodies in coalition. He approaches architecture as a site of negotiation between visibility and opacity, discipline and play, engaging with questions of behaviour, identity, sexuality, and resistance. His work focuses on provisional spatial formations, informal infrastructures, and dissident uses of space through which alternative social relations can briefly emerge. His projects and exhibitions have been presented at gta exhibitions and ETH Zürich, Kunsthalle Zürich, and CIVA Brussels. Since 2023, he has been part of the NEWROPE Chair of Architecture and Urban Transformation at ETH Zürich, where he combines teaching, research, and curatorial practice. He has taught and lectured at ETH Zürich, ZHdK, HEAD Genève, HSLU Lucerne, and ETSAB Barcelona. In 2025, he co-curated the exhibition It Was All Fields Once at CIVA and TRACK Brussels, as part of the New Ruralities research network.
