Jan Dominik Geipel
Jan Dominik Geipel is a German architect, curator, author, mentor and academic. He studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, later working with firms such as C.F. Møller and Vitra. Between 2009 and 2012, he served as program director at the Danish Architecture Center (DAC), curating key exhibitions such as Vitra: Playing Seriously (2011) and Denmark’s presentations at the Venice Biennale of Architecture. He also advised the Danish Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 2013 and 2017, Geipel served as the Head of the Space Design/Interior Architecture Department at HEAD – Genève (HES-SO). In 2018, he curated Designers’ Saturday in Switzerland, raising the event’s international profile. As a writer, Geipel contributes to journals such as Werk, Bauen + Wohnen and Archithese, focusing on architecture and Japanese design. His coaching company, Boussole Coaching, mentors professionals across various fields. Geipel lives in Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Denmark.
