Ilê Sartuzi (who lives and works between London and São Paulo) is an artist who graduated from the University of São Paulo and holds an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London. With a conceptual approach, the interest in the dramatic arts has given a theatricality to his objects. These works are animated by mechanical movements that interpret dramaturgy and choreography, often in a repetitive exercise n that leads to no catharsis but instead begins to reveal the functioning of the machines themselves. More recently, Sartuzi has incorporated procedures of misdirection and sleight of hand, with a particular focus on investigating institutional infrastructure.
