Hana Magdoňová

Hana Magdoňová (CZ, 1989) is a Performance art artist and researcher. The main field of her work is the bodily liminal experience, which is present in performative situations as well as transitional rituals. The methods of her work are based on the methods of the shamanic craft of bodily ecstasy or trance. She thinks about art more as a state of being that precedes the act in the material world and defines it as pre-media. The visual experience is always in the background at the expense of the physical experience (whether of one’s own body during a performance or a collective one within participatory happenings). The resulting effort is to sensitize our senses and expand our experience to include mythological and posthumanist realities, which should merge into one in the context of deep ecology. Hana is currently researching these topics as part of her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Arts, Brno University of Technology, Czechia, and applies them to her other projects and collaborations: Agronauts* Collective and Realities Research Lab.
