Francisco Martínez is an anthropologist and curator dealing with contemporary issues of material culture through ethnographic experiments. In his work, he explores how the materiality around us frames the way we know the world, making use of exhibitions as a methodology for social research. In 2018, he was awarded with the Early Career Prize of the European Association of Social Anthropologists. Francisco has published several books, including Ethnographic Experiments with Artists, Designers and Boundary Objects (2021) and Remains of the Soviet Past in Estonia (2018). Martínez and Razavi have common interest in the notion of repair and have participated in several panel discussions in relation to its history in former Soviet countries. Martínez has published several texts about Razavi’s practice including in Art Territory, Estonian Art, and Blok magazine.
