Femke de Vries

Femke de Vries works as a designer, researcher and teacher. In her practice she addresses the industrial and commercial workings of mainstream fashion and explores alternatives. Her recent interests lie in paratext in fashion and in the relation between human and non-human beings in fashion. Works of her are published/shown in/at; Press & Fold, MetropolisM, Vestoj, Harvard Design Magazine, Mode and Mode, State of Fashion, Viscose Magazine and MacGuffin. She co-founded Warehouse, a place for clothes in context, and is a senior lecturer at the ArtEZ MA Critical Fashion Practices. Publications of hers are; Fashioning Value – Undressing Ornament, Dictionary Dressings, What to buy for the fashion-focused reader in your life and A Magazine Reader (ed.).
