Erica Ferrari is an artist and researcher. She holds a PhD from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo. In recent years, she has produced objects and installations based on research into the relationships between urban space, sculpture, and social practice. Among her solo exhibitions are Memory-Lab Pavilion at Jester (FLACC/CIAP) in Genk, Belgium and Uma ruina paulista/vocabulary of work at Casa do Olhar in Santo André, São Paulo. Group shows include the 32nd Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts (2017); Casa Carioca at MAR – Rio de Janeiro Museum of Art (2020); and the 37th Panorama of Brazilian Art at MAM – Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo (2023). Among many awards, she received the LIAEP Award – Lighton International Artists Exchange Programme, the Award for History of Achievement in Visual Arts from the State for Culture of São Paulo, and the Sandwich Doctorate Scholarship – UdK Berlin. Erica has been a collaborator of MSTC, the Low-Income Workers’ Movement of São Paulo, since 2016.
