Dean Sameshima

Dean Sameshima lives and works in Berlin. He received his MFA from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena and BFA from the California Institute of the Arts. Recent group exhibitions include Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere, 60th Venice Biennale; Viewpoints: Queer Visibility, Henry Art Gallery, University of Washington, Digital Capture: Southern California and the Origins of the Pixel-Based Image World, California Museum of Photography; Scratching at the Moon, ICA Los Angeles, Evidence: Selections from the Permanent Collection, MOCA; Queer Histories, MASP, São Paulo. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include, being alone, Soft Opening, London, Promiscuous Rage, PPOW, New York. Dean Sameshima is in the permanent collections of the Getty Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, MOCA, the Henry Art Gallery, and Hammer Museum. He was the 2022 recipient of The Artist Acquisition Club award.
