David Bollier is a US-American author, activist, and consultant specializing in commons-based approaches to social and economic change. He has written numerous books and essays on the commons and is the director of the Reinventing the Commons program at the Schumacher Center for a New Economics. Together with Silke Helfrich, he co-founded the Commons Strategies Group and co-authored several key publications on the commons, including Free, Fair and Alive: The Insurgent Power of the Commons and Patterns of Commoning.
