Billy Sng

Billie Sng (b. 1997, Singapore) is an artist and designer who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (First Class Honours) from LASALLE College of the Art (2022) and a diploma in Communication Design (Integrated Advertising) from Temasek Polytechnic (2018). His interests lie in language, text, and poetics, and explores them through asemantic (without meaning) writing, analysis of the formal structures of language, and abstract methods of writing and meaning-making. Within his interdisciplinary practice, he explores AI language modelling and coding, design and typography, 3D-renderings, and sound art.

He has exhibited at Gillman Barracks during Singapore Art Week 2023 under The Upside Space; Goethe Institut Singapore; Singapore Art Week 2024 and at the Earl Lu Gallery for Critical Craft Collective; Alliance Française Singapour, and was commissioned by the National Arts Council for the New Arts Plan 2023. He is also part of a Singapore-based art/tech collective, Mouse Click Click, and currently works as a jewellery designer and creative director at Masterpiece Jewellery.
