Bertrand Van Dorp

Bertrand Van Dorp is an interior architect, founder of BVD atelier d’architectures and a collaborator at Nomos Architects. Based in Geneva since 2021, Van Dorp sees the ecological and demographic crises not as constraints but as catalysts for transformation within the built environment. His approach is not limited by scale, and he uses design as a tool to bridge oppositions, generate integrated value and create new spatial experiences. Actively engaging with local networks, Van Dorp seeks to reinforce community ties through his practice to ensure that each project resonates with its context. Alongside his practice, Van Dorp has taught at the Space Design/Interior Architecture Department at HEAD – Genève (HES-SO), co-directed the studio Atelier Réanime (2023–2024), which explored neglected spaces within Geneva’s urban fabric, and tested constructive and social strategies to revive abandoned areas. His involvement in education also extends to EPFL, where he contributed to the studio delivered by Ambra Fabi and Giovanni Piovene (2023–2024).
