AARS (Antwerp Artist Run School), founded in 2018 by Idris Sevenans and Tomas Beaujean, is a collective of forward-thinking art educators. Its mission is to bridge the widening gap between traditional art education and the dynamic demands of the contemporary art market. Since its inception, AARS has successfully opened and closed multiple campuses within and beyond Antwerp. Through strategic takeovers of art educators in established institutions, AARS transforms existing art schools, leaving only their physical structures, which are then renovated and repurposed.
